  • 1 loaf Cuban bread (approx. 12 inches)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 8 ounces slow-roasted pork (or grilled chicken/roasted vegetables)
  • 4 slices dill pickles
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix softened unsalted butter with minced garlic until combined.
  2. Slice the Cuban bread in half lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  3. Spread the garlic butter mixture on both inside surfaces of the bread.
  4. Layer Swiss cheese on one side followed by pork or alternative filling. Add pickles on top.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in it. Press down gently until golden brown; flip and repeat on the other side.
  6. Remove from heat, slice as desired, and serve hot.
