Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (17.3 oz) frozen puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling (or fresh cherries)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Thaw and roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface until about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Cut the puff pastry into squares. Place about 1 tablespoon of cream cheese filling in the center of each square and top with 1 tablespoon of cherry filling.
  5. Fold two opposite corners over the filling to create an open pocket and seal gently.
  6. Brush each Danish with egg wash for a glossy finish and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
