- 1 tsp chai spice blend (cardamom, ginger, cloves, black pepper)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix warm milk and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Stir in melted butter and egg.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, chai spice blend, and salt. Gradually add this to the yeast mixture until combined into a sticky dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a greased bowl for 10 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it. Sprinkle brown sugar mixed with cinnamon evenly.
- Roll tightly from one end into a log and slice into equal pieces. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Drizzle with icing if desired.
