  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs (for cheesecake filling)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for the cake layer)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (for crust)
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan with butter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, eggs, oil, water, and cocoa powder; mix until smooth. Pour half into the prepared pan and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
  3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add sour cream, vanilla extract, and eggs one at a time; mix well.
  4. Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled red velvet layer and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for another 50-60 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center. Turn off oven and let it sit inside for an hour before cooling completely at room temperature.
