Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Slice flank steak thinly against the grain. Chop broccoli into bite-sized florets. Mince garlic and grate ginger.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add beef slices and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat with a splash of vegetable oil. Add marinated beef in batches; cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from pan.
  4. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed. Stir-fry broccoli florets for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. Return cooked beef to skillet with broccoli. Pour any remaining marinade over everything and cook together for another minute until heated through.
  6. Transfer to plates and serve immediately with steamed rice or noodles.
