Description

A sweet and savory salmon dish cooked in foil packets for maximum moisture and zero cleanup. The brown sugar and garlic create a sticky, caramelized glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Heavy-duty aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut four large squares of heavy-duty aluminum foil and lightly grease each with oil.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, minced garlic, soy sauce, and lemon juice until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Pat salmon fillets dry and season them with black pepper.
  5. Place each fillet in the center of a foil square and generously spoon the glaze over the top and sides of the fish.
  6. Fold the edges of the foil over the salmon to create a sealed packet, leaving a little room for steam.
  7. Place packets on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets.
  8. Carefully open the packets and check that the salmon flakes easily with a fork or reaches 145°F internal temperature.
