Description

Tart Granny Smith apples coated in a hard-crack sugar shell infused with warm pumpkin spices. A classic autumn treat with a seasonal twist.


Ingredients

  • 6 medium Granny Smith apples
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin spice blend
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 wooden popsicle sticks

Instructions

  1. Wash and scrub apples to remove wax, then dry them completely.
  2. Insert a wooden stick into the top of each apple and place them on parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, corn syrup, pumpkin spice, and butter.
  4. Heat the mixture over medium heat without stirring until it reaches 300°F (149°C) on a candy thermometer.
  5. Carefully dip each apple into the syrup, rotating to coat evenly.
  6. Let excess syrup drip off, then place the apple back on parchment paper to harden for 30 minutes.
