- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup buttercream frosting (orange or purple)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350F (175C). Grease a 9 or 12-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still slightly soft.
- Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before removing it from the sides.
- Pipe your chosen frosting over the top and decorate with Halloween candies.
