Description

Juicy, tender cheeseburgers prepared in a slow cooker for a hands-off dinner. Searing the meat first adds a rich crust, while the slow cooker keeps the beef moist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat)
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear patties for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
  3. Season the patties with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder during the searing process.
  4. Pour beef broth into the bottom of the slow cooker.
  5. Place seared patties in the slow cooker in a single layer.
  6. Drizzle Worcestershire sauce over each patty.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or on high for 1-2 hours until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  8. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover for 5-10 minutes until melted.
