Description

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 oz smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • Fresh dill sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 20 equal squares or circles.
  3. Whisk the egg and water together; lightly brush the tops and edges of the pastry pieces.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  5. Remove from oven and let the pastry bases cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, lemon juice, chopped dill, and black pepper until smooth.
  7. Spoon a dollop of the cream cheese mixture onto each cooled pastry base.
  8. Top each piece with a ribbon of smoked salmon and a fresh dill sprig for garnish.
