- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 24 whole pecan halves for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet batter until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped pecans using a spatula.
- Scoop 2 tablespoon portions onto the sheet and press a pecan half into the center.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on pan for 5 minutes before moving.
