A decadent hybrid dessert featuring soft, yeast-risen rolls filled with a tangy cream cheese center and topped with a fresh strawberry glaze.

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, pureed and reduced
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp strawberry puree (for glaze)
- 1 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix in melted butter, egg, and the remaining sugar. Gradually stir in flour until a dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl and let rise for 1 hour.
- Beat softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Roll dough into a 12×18 inch rectangle. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
- Spread the strawberry reduction thinly over the cream cheese layer.
- Roll the dough into a tight log and slice into 12 equal pieces using dental floss or a sharp knife.
- Place rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Whisk together glaze ingredients (powdered sugar, strawberry puree, milk) and pour over warm rolls.
