- 6 medium apples (mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375F (190C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and granulated sugar until evenly coated.
- Transfer the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading them evenly.
- In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt.
- Cut cold butter into the dry mixture using a pastry cutter or fingers until crumbly with pea-sized lumps.
- Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
