- 1 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin.
- Cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour and baking powder; fold into wet ingredients with milk.
- Fill liners 2/3 full and bake for 18-22 minutes.
- Cool cupcakes completely.
- Beat frosting butter and cocoa, then gradually add powdered sugar and cream.
- Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes.
