- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for coating
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until smooth and pale.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and salt until combined.
- Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour on low speed until a soft dough forms.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes; the cookies should be set but not browned on top.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 3 minutes, then roll each cookie in powdered sugar.
- Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack, then roll them in powdered sugar a second time for a thick coating.
